Confirmation of death

Before organizing transportation, official confirmation of death must be obtained.

If death occurred at home due to natural causes:

Call the Emergency Medical Service (NMPD) at 113 or contact the deceased’s family doctor.

If an emergency medical team (NMPD) arrives and confirms death, they will issue a death certificate 👇

With this certificate and the deceased’s passport, you must visit the family doctor, who will issue a certificate of cause of death.

If the emergency medical team does not arrive – in this case, it is necessary to contact the funeral home to arrange transportation of the deceased to the morgue.

If the ambulance team did not arrive at the call

If death occurred in a hospital:

The hospital staff will notify the relatives and provide the necessary documents. In this case, you do not need to visit the family doctor, as the hospital doctor will issue the cause of death certificate.

If death occurred under unknown or violent circumstances:

Immediately call the police (110) and the emergency medical service (113).

The police may order an autopsy, and the deceased will be sent to the forensic morgue.
